Glucometer Cleaning and Disinfection Clarification

There have been some questions regarding the directions provided for cleaning and disinfecting system glucometers.

To clarify, while most of the products utilized within the ATCEMS System have disinfectants that contain alcohol, PDI,  the manufacturer indicates that Sani-Cloth Supers (Purple Top Container) are safe to use on the Ascensia glucometers.  Agencies are advised to review the product(s) within your inventory to ensure the proper product is utilized.  VioNex or similar antiseptics are not acceptable for cleaning inanimate surfaces and should not be used on the glucometers.
